Safety Precautions for adding Earth to New Model Cars

Adding Earth to Models with Electrical Current Sensor connected to Battery's - Terminal.

Affected car models

Affected Makers New type Toyotas, Mazda, daihatsu, Nissan and some non-Japanese model cars.
Non-affected Makers Honda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Volkswagen cars. (As of March, 2008)
•Honda and Suzuki model cars have the electrical current sensor on the Plus side and hence there is no trouble with the usual method.

Overviews

When wishing to add an earth connection for new type car models which in order to control battery recharging have a "electrical current sensor" connected to the Minus battery terminal do not take the earth directly from the Minus terminal but rather from the earth connection on the body which is taken from the sensor. If earth is taken directly from the Minus terminal recharging control may not work properly and there is a possibility that performance will be adversely effected.

Affected products

PIVOT's Products RAIZIN (VS-E), SPARK EARTH (SES), IGNITION EARTH (IE-1 / 1L)

Direct Connection of Voltage Stabilizer is OK.

There is no problem with directly connecting our Voltage Stabilizer directly to the Plus and Minus terminals of the battery.

RAIZIN (VS-E)SPARKEARTH (SES)IGNITION EARTH (IE-1 / 1L)

Examples of Various Electrical Current Sensors

•Some car models will have the "electrical current sensor" connected away from the battery in a place that may not be visible. For details check with your dealer or if unsure connect the earth to the same place on the body.
•The installation position and the shape of the electrical current sensor may be different before and after minor model changes; please consult your car dealer for details.
